On the right of the picture, between the passenger car and the milk truck, is a German tank, shooting at the barracks in the background. Behind the signal stand, a little further back in the picture is an overturned German motorcycle. The rider has just been shot. Next to the motorcycle, out on the roadway lies the damaged tracks of the German tank.

The tank, whose driver was shot, drove towards the house on the right in the picture, where it remained standing until the fight was over. The passenger car was driven by Carstensen. It came to a halt outside the police station after suffering several hits.
